Farm Manager

Anticipated start date: Septmber 8, 2025 (or sooner, if available)
Hours: Full-time, year-round exempt, salaried position. Working hours vary by season, typically Monday - Friday with occasional weekend tasks, reporting to the Executive Director.
Salary and Benefits: This position pays $52K – $62K DOE. Benefits include sick leave, 11 paid annual holidays, PTO, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and negotiable medical/dental/vision packages. Mileage reimbursements provided for travel.
Agri-Cultura Network (ACN) is New Mexico’s largest farming cooperative and is a community-driven model, building New Mexico’s small farming economy through sustainable and regenerative food justice.
ACN is looking for an experienced Farm Manager that understands climate smart farming methods, New Mexico grown produce, organic farming methods, relationship building, food safety and management.
Goal: The Farm Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing farm operations across two Agri-Cultura farming operations. The sites are located at 1925 Citation Dr SW and 2nd and Rio Bravo.
Responsibilities:
· Managing and maintaining greenhouses, cold frames, and surrounding property
· Licensing and tracking for organic certification
· Develop strategic priorities, annual operating goals, and annual farm budget
· Management of farm staff and volunteers
· Obtaining and maintaining production sales (nursery, greenhouse, value add)
· Create and implement an annual work plan and crop plan
· Manage farm activities (planting, harvesting, washing, packing, distribution of produce, pest control, soil testing and fertility management, water collection, irrigation construction and maintenance, greenhouse maintenance)
· Maintain fresh produce and tool storage spaces
· Track material donations and purchase/acquire equipment and supplies
· Document all expenses and work within the agreed-upon annual farm budget
· Submit documentation required for grant funding
· Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate 3-5 weekly farm volunteer shifts March - November
· Track and document all farm operations
· Work to build a welcoming and positive atmosphere at all the gardens
· Maintain and develop relationships with local resources, community partners
· Inform and co-lead design, scheduling, and facilitation of agricultural workshops throughout the year
· Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Skills:
· Passion for social, environmental, economic, food justice, ACN’s mission
· Experience in urban agriculture and food production
· Ability to manage climate-smart/organic greenhouses and fruit orchards
· Culturally and linguistically familiar with the local community
· Ability to lift 40lbs
· Desire to work outside in all weather conditions and complete repetitive tasks
· Experience with and passion for coaching/mentoring in a farm/garden setting
· Able to coordinate, collaborate, and delegate within a close-knit team
· Demonstrated capability to supervise, lead, and cultivate a team
· Strong written and spoken communication skills
· Legacy/sustainability oriented – strong documentation and record-keeping skills
· Solution and detail-oriented
· Flexibility to adapt to frequently changing daily tasks
· Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Valid driver’s license, ability to drive manual transmission (or willingness to learn)
· Familiarity with the Transition to Organic Program preferred
· Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
· Experience managing annual vegetable crop plan of 10,000 lbs or more preferred
· Experience in Integrated Pest Management preferred
